The program has performed illegal operation...

What's with windows? Why did they call it that? I'd like to meet Bill Gates and tell him, "you know, a rectangle with a picture inside does not necessarily make it a window... if anything it qualifies as a picture" they should really call it what it is, gallery of ancient art, especially with those 4 squares and landscapes from Shrek.

They got that help when you hit F1 button, of course that never helps, so you gotta call your friend who in the past 5 years of using windows discovered more functions that Microsoft put into it. Isn't that sad? I mean you're working on your 400 page essay, then it crashes, it's like they're saying "this is how far your $395+tax have taken you. If you wish to keep going put another $139.99 for updates into the slot machine and yank the lever."

when did you change your diapers?

This is definitely the scariest thing I have done. The falling down at about 150mi/hr isn't even the scariest part... the worst is standing outside (no, it's not a typo, OUTSIDE) of the airplane, holding on to a metal handle that looks like something from a german tank tpye Tiger in the WWII, a propeller blasting kerosine fumes in your face about 5 feet away at 100mi/hr.
Yeah, that actually is me on that tiny picture, tiny just so you can't see my "whatthe?!?!?!" face. No, I didn't always dream about it, in fact, it was spur of the moment... A friend with a huge hangover calls "wanna go?" What am I gonna say? I'm a wuss? ha!
I actually have more questions about skydiving than experiences to tell - what is the point of helmet there, let me ask you? Can you KINDA make it? I've seen the ground from up there, now i know why birds crap so much... You jump out of that plane at 10000ft your parachute doesn't open, the helmet is now wearing you for protection! Later on talking with other helmets "it's a good thing he was there, otherwise I would've hit the ground directly! That's the basic helmet safety, you never jump out of the plane without a human being strapped underneath you". They got me the gloves, the suit, the whole deal. They even have an altimeter with the time on it. What was that about? "I'm plunging to the ground, my parachute failed to open, and gee! look at the time! I'm dead AND late!"

El autobus en ottawa

Part I.
So I'm working in Ottawa (I'll tell you about that one later) and the busses here are a joy... pictures will also be posted sometime in the future if I don't break my camera running after one.
You gotta love it when you crawl out of your house into freezing cold and realize you got about a minute and a half to sprint through the 250m of ice and sand to the last bus. Naturally you slide on your butt off the stairs because you forgot the building maintenance never keeps them clean aside from occasional spraying with fine gravel. I have no idea what's that supposed to be - you still slide on the ice under the gravel, just can't see where it is because of the grey excre... ahem rocks :D
By the time you get up, shake the dirt off and come to your senses, you got about half a minute left. Obviously you're late for that bus, but you got one more chance - it makes a loop around your block so you can catch it at the intersection if u run in the opposite direction with the speed slightly above that of Yuriy Borzakovskiy... (Olympic games in Athens 2004 might ring the bell). By some miracle you make it to that intersection and despite the continually negative odds you get on that bus!.. Aside: some people say you enjoy the journey to success much more than the destination itself, to them I say did you ever run after the last bus on a rainy night in october?
But that was just a prologue to your fun.
The driver is crawling behind this grandpa who's doing 30 on the 100km/h highway, "this is a 100km/h zone, not 100 minus your age zone, step it up, paps!" finally he gets off the highway, now it's 90km/h zone, but I guess impressed by the paps driving, he continues on at 40km/h. And I'm not exactly sure what the driver was trying to do, I think he believed the bus was full of old people and pregnant women: slowing down at first sight of the bus stop, which sometimes was about 1km away and accelerating slightly faster than a loaded train somewhere between Moscow and Berlin. About half way through the ride he fell asleep, realized he has to break about 50m away from the other bus on a bus stop, hit the breaks and... the semi-cleaned roads with subtle ice crust let him know who's the boss :)) The clumsy bus skidded to a stop, the driver is having a coronary along with 15 other passengers who immediately awoke from the routine bus-snoozing. I wasn't positive about this one, but I'm pretty sure the woman sitting next to me started praying to every God she knew the name of. This is what I call well-rounded individual who keeps her options open. Remember Beni Gabor in The Mummy? Same deal, except no monster with sand falling off. No we didn't hit the other bus and nobody got hurt - nothing exciting another words.

rush hour

Don't you just love it when you're almost late for an appointment, you take your favourite shortcut and there you are... turns out, 3 blocks ahead there's an accident :)
I've always noticed: you're driving on the highway, it's rush hour, traffic is barely moving. You're in the left lane (mostly), and then by some chance your lane starts moving. As you pass one car after another, everybody from other lanes starts looking over to your side, and cars ahead of you start signaling lane change. At that point I usually think, "yeah, sure, this is a secret lane, nobody knows about it, come on in, I'll split it with you." And they stick out their hands, "I couldn't help but notice you've found a secret lane, could you please let me in? Thank you so much." Almost like lane-beggars...

pic was taken around after new years, 2005, pretty much right outside of my house

It's like I got a magic traffic remote control, and they're stuck in the bad lane - everyone's moving but them. And after they change, their old lane starts to move. Well, obviously, too many people have found out about the secret lane, now you gotta go back before everyone realizes what's happening. That's why I hate traffic, because of those secret-busters.

Decided to make my own blog

So I noticed everybody's got a "blog". Even in the news articles they are referring to blogs. In europe (especially in eastern europe) livejournal is gaining some respect. It's not much different from this blog thing, except maybe there are different levels of premission (who can view your posts etc). Maybe I just haven't gotten to all of the bells and whistles of this blogger yet, but we'll see. I even got one of my own LJs, never posted there - just have it so I can see my friends' LJs.

this pic was taken by moi from a port in the lake Ontario

Just a little about myself. I'm from Toronto, Ontario's capital. A city of business (read busy-ness), night life and smog. The latter is clearly seen from this picture - the entire horizon is orange... not from the sun alone, but from nitrogen dioxide emissions. Although sometimes it does look like the city is showering in the rays of the setting sun.

this is basically my desk with a large white sheet of paper in the middle of it

As you have probably guessed, I dabble at photography. Since I inherited my artistic/musical/vocal abilities from my father, who never painted/played instruments/sung, I'm stuck with a camera.
As time goes by, perhaps I will post some more of my pictures here. Meanwhile, adiós amigos.
